After a long wait since Netflix realized it was creating game content for its mega billion dollar entertainment streaming platform, it was a matter of time before you could actually play the games from the Netflix app. Finally that day has come.
To be sure, after its global streaming expansion, Netflix had to start creating a new product to grow financially. Netflix has been developing its mobile gaming functionality for a while, testing the service in Poland, Spain and Italy. At the moment, only Android devices can take advantage of the game offerings, but Netflix confirms that support for iOS is on the way.
Users will be able to choose from one of five games: Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast and Teeter Up. Starting today, users can download Netflix games from the Google Play Store, which requires a Netflix subscription to play. Then, on November 3rd, Netflix will begin distributing games on the app itself. When on a mobile device, Netflix games will be packaged in their own dedicated row and will have a dedicated tab.

While current game offerings are a bit scarce, Netflix has acquired developer Oxenfree Night School, which may suggest more ambitious titles than the gripping Shooting Hoops.
